Completed Projects
MCS Office Building (319 Main Street)
Location: Baltimore, MD
Customer: Turner Troxell Co., Inc.
This office building consisted of shell work, providing building exteriors, stairwells, restrooms, mechanical rooms, and storage rooms. The Plain-sliced red oak, prefinished doors came out quite well, and we had the opportunity to provide a Hager hardware package that was all-inclusive.
901 N. Milton Avenue
Location: Baltimore, MD
Customer: A.R. Marani, Inc.
A large, multi-tenant office space in downtown Baltimore, this project started with the renovation of its existing building into a sound professional space. A.R. Marani, Inc. expertly directed their commercial trades, us included, to complete the space on time and to the owner's satisfaction.
The multiple tenants sharing this 4-floor building made keying and electronic security hardware a must, and the coordination of this fell to us, A.R. Marani, Inc., their electrician, and their security contractor.
5520 Research Park Drive (UMBC Campus)
Location: Catonsville, MD
Customer: Whiting Turner Contracting
This project was a well-executed and organized contract performed by Whiting Turner and their experienced installation subcontractor. Many of the aspects of the doors, frames, and hardware for this project were fairly standard, but one item that stood out was the wood doors, which were stave core, AWI quality certified, and formed of adhesives that do not contain added urea-formaldehyde resins (to qualify for LEEDS environmental credits.)
Agape Mission Church
Location: Columbia, MD
Customer: Plano-Coudon, LLC
This church was a renovation of an existing space in a strip mall, with metal frames, flush wood doors, and stile and rail wood doors.
One special application was a "bank" of wood doors with concealed stops.
Bethesda Theatre Tenant Fitout
Location: Bethesda, MD
Customer: Bozzuto Construction Co.
This renovation of a historical theatre was a turn-key project by Bay Door & Hardware, Inc. We provided frames, doors, hardware, electrified products, and automatic operators, and installed all components. We took into account historical, performance and feasibility, life safety, sound transmission, and security requirements in building a complete project that our customer was proud to call their own.
Bryant Street Pumping Station
Location: Washington, DC
Customer: Whiting Turner Contracting
A renovated pump station with a small museum section and office areas, the Bryant Street Pumping Station consisted of such specialty products as custom, welded panel metal doors from Ambico, LTD and stile and rail doors from Harring Doors.
One special opening was an exterior loading dock pair of 4'6" X 7'6" wide lower dutch door leafs with 4'6" X 6'0" upper leafs...all 2-1/4" thick. The satin bronze cane bolts and mortise exit devices were an engineering adventure, but ended up as a working application.
Novavax Clinical Pilot Plant Facility
Location: Rockville, MD
Customer: Whiting Turner Contracting
The Novavax Pilot Plant Facility was a small project, but one which involved a great deal of special attention. There were two specialty lites here that we had to send to a separate metal fabrication (roll-form) facility to bend and create an arc. This company filled out jamb with a high-density foam and then slowly bent it to our field-verified degree arc.
